Franz Wagner barely hangs on to third spot in this week's NBA Rookie of the Year power rankings. With Scottie Barnes close to his tail, Wagner came out of his shooting slump at the right time, averaging 21.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists last week.

The rookie's shooting percentages of 64.1% from the field and 50.0% from beyond the arc last week were his best for the year. Wagner also helped the Orlando Magic win two of their three games last week. If he can continue playing at a high level, he could make the race for NBA's Rookie of the Year even more interesting.

Cade Cunningham enjoyed an excellent last week, averaging 20.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 7.3 assists in three games. Cunningham scored a career-high 34 points in the loss to the Denver Nuggets and also added eight rebounds and eight assists in that game.

Cunningham followed it up with a dud game against the Orlando Magic. But he quickly rebounded with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Detroit Pistons also had seven wins last month, making it their best month of the season.

Evan Mobley remains in first place in this week's NBA Rookie of the Year power rankings. It was a down week for Mobley, as he averaged just 12.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists. However, he still managed to make an impact for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Mobley is already among the best defenders in the NBA. He's a dark horse in the Defensive Player of the Year voting and is the favorite for the Rookie of the Year Award. Mobley merely has to sustain his production, while also avoiding any kind of injuries.
