As one of the best centers in the NBA, Cousins was expected to command a max contract last summer, although his options were limited after he was diagnosed with a torn left Achilles.
Cousins eventually signed a one-year, $5.7 million deal with the Golden State Warriors, and after overcoming his career-threating injury, Cousins averaged 16.3 points and 8.2 rebounds in 25.7 minutes per game. The Kentucky product also got a taste of postseason basketball for the first time in his decade-long NBA career.
The 28-year-old would be a huge signing for the Heat, although a deal is complicated, and Cousins would once again have to take a small deal.
