What's the rumor?
Danilo Gallinari was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder as part of the blockbuster deal that sent Paul George to Los Angeles this summer, and the Italian has instantly established himself as a key performer for the Thunder.
With less than a year remaining on his current deal, Gallinari is looking to secure a big payday next summer, and Hoops Rumors believes that the Italian is on course to earn a substantial new long-term deal:
Gallinari's biggest issue has been staying out of the trainer's room. But, when he's healthy he can fill it up. At 31, Gallinari still has a few more good years left and will get a hefty long-term offer next summer.

In case you didn't know...
Gallinari was drafted sixth overall by the New York Knicks back in the 2008 NBA Draft, and after spending three seasons with the Knicks, Gallinari has enjoyed spells with the Denver Nuggets and LA Clippers.
While the Italian's NBA career has been disrupted by injuries, he was a borderline All-Star during the 2018-19 season as he averaged 19.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. The forward has also made an excellent start to life in Oklahoma City, averaging 18.8 points and 5.1 rebounds.
The heart of the matter
Gallinari has already been linked with a move away from the Thunder, and 31, it makes little sense for the team to offer him big money as they build around young talent. Due to this, it makes sense to move him ahead of the trade deadline, and the Thunder should be able to get a first-round draft pick or a promising young talent as part of a deal.
What's next?
Following back-to-back defeats to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Thunder will be looking to get back to winning ways on Monday as they take on the Golden State Warriors.
