This week saw a pretty big shakeup in the NBA's season leaders. With some standout performances, we saw some new leaders emerge in various categories. So without any further ado, lets take a look at the league leaders in the five major stat categories.
NBA Scoring Leader: Joel Embiid (33.4 points per game)
This week saw Joel Embiid surpass Luka Doncic as the NBA's scoring leader. Although Embiid missed the 76ers Saturday game against the Sacramento Kings, a big 26-point outing on the 25th against the Nets gave him the edge over Luka Doncic. Doncic had a 29-point game on the 22nd and a 41-point outing on the 24th. However, they weren't enough to stave off Embiid.

NBA Rebounds Leader: Domantas Sabonis (12.4 rebounds per game)
This week saw Domantas Sabonis hold onto his spot as the league leader in rebounding. As the Sacramento Kings continue to leave the league speechless with their performances, Sabonis kept the momentum rolling this week. Despite recording just 27 rebounds over three games, Sabonis held onto his spot as the lleague'srebounding leader.
NBA Assists Leader: Tyrese Haliburton (10.2 assists per game)
Another week has come and gone and Tyrese Haliburton continues to lead the league in assists despite the fact that he hasn't played since January 11th. With Trae Young and Nikola Jokic still tied for second place with 9.9 assists per game, Haliburton is holding onto the lead throughout his absence.
As he deals with a sprained knee and elbow, it will be interesting to see if he manages to hold the lead through his eventual return.
NBA Blocks Leader: Nic Claxton (2.7 blocks per game)
Nic Claxton of the Brooklyn Nets once again stands alone as the league leader in blocks. With 2.7 blocks per game, he sits comfortably ahead of Brook Lopez, who has 2.5 blocks per game. This week saw Claxton keep the momentum going as he recorded seven blocks across three games.
Even though the Nets went just 1-2 during that stretch, his defensive efforts continue to be stellar.
NBA Steals Leader: Jimmy Butler & OG Anunoby (2.1 steals per game - TIE)
Jimmy Butler had a massive, massive week on the defensive end of the floor, bringing his NBA season average up to 2.1 steals per game. With his efforts, Butler now finds himself tied with OG Anunoby for league leader in steals.
On Sunday, Butler kicked off the week by recording a whopping 5 steals against the New Orleans Pelicans. After sitting out the team's January 24th game against the Boston Celtics, he returned in a big way and recorded two steals against the Orlando Magic on Friday.
He is tied with him is OG Anunoby, who has continued to lead the NBA in steals for several weeks now. After missing Sunday's game against the Knicks, Anunoby bounced back with two steals on Thursday against the Kings. To wrap up the week, Anunoby recorded just one steal in the team's game against the Warriors before exiting with a wrist injury.
