The NBA All-Star weekend is almost here. The All-Stars will travel to Utah in just six days' time. This means the season is almost halfway done, and some of the current stat leaders are putting up ridiculous numbers.
Of those leaders, Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, James Harden, Nikola Jokic, and others are all leading the way.
Let's take a look at the league's stat leaders in the five major categories.
NBA Scoring Leader: Luka Doncic and Joel Embiid (33.4 Points Per Game)
Luka Doncic and Joel Embiid are currently averaging the most points in the NBA this season at 33.4 PPG. They're just one point higher than third-place Antetokounmpo. Not only are Doncic and Embiid putting up great numbers in scoring, but they're also grabbing rebounds at an elite level and shooting over 50% from the field.

Doncic and Embiid are proving to be two of the best scorers in the NBA at the moment, and it would be tough to argue that they aren't the top two.
NBA Rebound Leader: Giannis Antetokounmpo (12.3 Rebounds Per Game)
Not only is Giannis Antetokounmpo putting up insane numbers offensively and defensively, but he's also leading the league in rebounds. As of February 11, 2023, Antetokounmpo is averaging 12.3 rebounds per game.
Like the points leader, the "Greek Freak" is just 0.1 ahead of second-place Domantas Sabonis. Antetokounmpo is the only player in the NBA who is currently in the top five in points and rebounds, proving that he is arguably the best player in the league.
NBA Assists Leader: James Harden (10.9 Assists Per Game)
The current assists leader in the NBA is James Harden, with 10.9 per game. Harden is also averaging 21.1 points per contest. He's been an elite point guard for the Philadelphia 76ers and truly fits exactly what the team is looking for.
Despite not making the All-Star Game this season, Harden is playing some above-average basketball and could be that missing piece that Joel Embiid has been looking for throughout the past few years.
Hopefully, this time around, Embiid can find a way to stay healthy and play with Harden in the playoffs.
NBA Steals Leader: Jimmy Butler and O.G. Anunoby (2.1 Steals Per Game)
The current steals leader in the NBA is a tie between Miami Heat's Jimmy Butler and Toronto Raptors' O.G. Anunoby. They're both averaging 2.1 per game.
Steals don't always tell the story of what players can do on the defensive side of the court, but these are easily two of the top defenders in the NBA right now.
NBA Blocks Leader: Nic Claxton (2.6 Blocks Per Game)
Brooklyn Nets' Nic Claxton currently leads the NBA in blocks with 2.6 per game. Although that number is a bit off, considering that Jaren Jackson Jr. hasn't played enough games to qualify. However, Claxton is still playing at an elite level with 2.6 blocks per game. He's averaging just .1 more than second-placed Brook Lopez. A player must play in 70% of games, and Jaren Jackson hasn't done that just yet.
