What were the Raptors going for with the grey side stripes?

This jersey may not be quite as bad as the military uniform, however, this design takes the number two spot due to the fact that it was in use for so long. The front of this jersey is uninspired and dull, although it is the sidesteps that condemn the jersey as one of the worst in Raptor history.

The grey arrows simply don't fit in with the red color scheme, and thankfully the Raptors have since changed the grey arrows to a much more discreet black.
