#2. New Jersey Nets - 2009/10

In the last few seasons of the New Jersey Nets in the NBA, they were fairly horrible. The 2009/10 season saw them start terribly, with an 18 game losing streak that topped the previous record holders, the 1988-89 Miami Heat.

After the 16th loss of the streak against Sacramento, the Nets fired head coach Lawrence Frank with the assistant coach stepping in for two games, which were lost, before hiring Kiki Vandeweghe, who won his first game as head coach against the Charlotte Bobcats to keep the record at only 18 losses.

The Nets became just the fifth team in NBA history to lose 70 games in a single season, ending the season with a record of just 12 wins and 70 losses, winning five of their last 12 games to end the season.
