I’m starting something new this week, and what better timing than off that abysmal Bears game from Sunday. I pride myself on having this site be a place where you can have a few laughs, while also re-living some of the greatest moments in Chicago sports history. I love tying in old school memories to today’s usual heartbreak.
This week’s game is Game 4 of the ’93 NBA eastern conference finals. The Bulls had lost the first two games of this series to the Knicks in New York, and would have to comeback from an 0-2 hole to win the series. The Bulls easily disposed of the Knicks in game 3 103-83 to cut the deficit, but needed to get game 4 as well to avoid going down 3-1. Up until this point, Michael Jordan had struggled mightily in this series. He was a mere 3-18 in game 3, and struggled massively in the games in New York. MJ’s gambling had become the story, and his trips to Atlantic City in-between the first two games of the series became the story. A gambling book would come out right before game 6 of this series detailing MJ’s insane gambling problems on the gold course. Somehow, he blocked out all of the bullshit that would have crippled other athletes, and delivered one of his signature performances in game 4. This 54 point masterpiece evened the series at 2-2, and brought the Bulls one step closer to a historic 3-Peat…
