Butler started the proceedings with a step-back jumper that went in, and then followed it up with a mid-range jumper over Roy Hibbert. With 4:59 remaining in the first quarter, Butler pulled up from elbow region to give the Bulls a three-point lead.
Butler shot a red-hot 15-for-24 from the field, with a field-goal percentage of 62.5. He was fouled on several occasions and went 21-for-22 from the free-throw line.
Butler finished the game with 52 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists and helped the Bulls defeat the Hornets, 118-111.
