The Philadelphia 76ers got off to a hot start during the 2000-01 season and were 23-8 when they visited the Gund Arena for a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Iverson's 54-points monster performance helped the 76ers roll past the Cavs.

It was a competitive game and the Sixers were up by 2 points at the end of the first quarter, with Allen Iverson scoring as many as 15 points. He continued his domination in the second quarter and the 76ers led 56-48 at the end of two quarters.

In the third quarter, with 01.1 sec remaining, Iverson made an 18-foot jumper to extend the visitors' lead to 8 points. However, the Cavs did not give up and kept fighting for the win.
