#2. The Markelle Fultz epoch draws to a close; Enter James Ennis
The first overall pick of the 2017 NBA draft had a pretty rough road to trod down in Philadelphia. Marred by injuries, shooting woes, claims of being a bust and many more anomalies, Fultz's stay at the Sixers was nothing short of a tragedy, which eventually ended on February 7th.

The Sixers reached an agreement with the Magic to send Fultz to Orlando for forward Jonathan Simmons, a first-round pick (top-20 protected from Oklahoma City) and a second-round pick.
Currently sidelined due to thoracic outlet syndrome and expected to return this season itself, Fultz is averaging just 8.2 points and 3.1 assists per game this year so far.
As the third trade deal right before the deadline, GM Elton Brand imported James Ennis from the Houston Rockets in exchange for the right to swap second-round picks in the 2021 NBA draft. The Sixers had to waive Malachi Richardson to accommodate the 6-foot-7 win Ennis, who was drafted as the 50th pick in the 2013 NBA draft.
