#2 Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets lost Kemba Walker after refusing to hand their longtime star the max-contract that many believed he deserved, and the Hornets need to do something to keep their fanbase onside. With free agents unlikely to consider them as a potential destination, a bold trade is Charlotte's only option, and landing Drummond would be a major coup for the struggling franchise.

The addition of Drummond combined with a resurgent Terry Rozier could be enough for the Hornets to sneak in the playoffs, and the 26-year-old could be convinced to sign a long-term deal next summer. A path to a trade appears difficult at first, although the Pistons were linked with Malik Monk earlier this year, and sending the 21-year-old alongside Nicolas Batum would make the numbers for the trade work. Admittedly, not the most fashionable trade, although both teams could become desperate as the season progresses.
