Ahead of the 2019 playoffs, the Portland Trail Blazers had been swept in consecutive seasons. Nevertheless, Portland managed to finally pull it together as they reached the 2019 Western Conference Finals thanks to impressive series wins over the Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets.

Portland's playoff success was largely fueled by the excellent backcourt duo of CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard, although the roster remains short on quality in other areas. Due to this, the Trail Blazers would be able to hand Iguodala a starting spot, and sending Kent Bazemore and the final year of his $19 million contract could help facilitate a trade.

The Grizzlies won't entertain a straight swap, although the inclusion of a young player could help convince Memphis to complete a trade due to their eagerness to offload Iguodala.
