#2 Anthony Davis trade to Lakers ruled out

With LeBron James still out with a groin injury, the Los Angeles Lakers have continued to be linked with making trades for a number of stars. Among these is Anthony Davis, who is currently averaging 28.9 points, 13.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.

However, despite talk of the Lakers making a move for the All-Star, Kevin Pelton is adamant this won't be the case this month:

They shouldn't and won't, mostly because I don't know what big trade there is to be made at this point. I'd consider it extremely unlikely Anthony Davis will be traded at the deadline, and the Lakers should certainly wait to see whether Davis is attainable before making another blockbuster trade.
Davis is contracted with the Pelicans until 2021, although the center can opt out his deal in 2020. The Boston Celtics have also been heavily linked with making a summer move for the 5-time All-Star.
