Dennis Smith Jr. is open to a move away from the Dallas Mavericks
Reports emerged earlier this week that the Dallas Mavericks had made the decision to trade away Dennis Smith Jr. The 21-year-old was only drafted by the Mavericks last season, although Brad Townsend from the Dallas Morning News is reporting that Smith Jr. himself is now open to being traded:
'A source close to Dennis Smith Jr confirms that neither Smith, nor his agent, requested a trade, but are open to one. He likes the organization and he likes the players. I just don’t think it was probably a good (basketball) fit'

Smith has made 28 starts for the Mavericks this season, although he has not played in the teams last three games. For the 2018/19 season, Smith Jr. is averaging 12.6 points, 3.9 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game, and the point guard is contracted with the team until 2022.
