NBA Trade Rumors: Mitchell Robinson could be headed to the Golden State Warriors

As the 2020 NBA Draft draws closer, the Golden State Warriors' window to bring in a superstar only gets smaller. Fans are now starting to lose hope in the possibility of the Warriors acquiring a big name and, perhaps, it may be time for the franchise to aim lower. NBA trade rumors have speculated the fit of New York Knicks star Mitchell Robinson in the Golden State Warriors' system, with many expecting the franchise to potentially sacrifice the player for a chance at drafting LaMelo Ball.

Mitchell Robinson has enjoyed a solid season, especially for a young player in the NBA, averaging 9.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 0.6 assists. Despite not having eye-popping numbers, he has displayed a high upside on both ends and could be a valuable asset for a team once developed.

With that in mind, let's analyze if an NBA trade for Mitchell Robinson to the Golden State Warriors would prove beneficial for both parties involved.

If this NBA trade rumor were to materialize, the move would be more than just the Golden State Warriors acquiring Mitchell Robinson. There have been several reports of the franchise potentially going after another point guard in the draft to add depth to the bench. And if this trade were to happen, the franchise would also receive the 8th overall pick from the New York Knicks.

Mitchell Robinson has tremendous potential. Offensively, he is excellent as a pick-and-roll finisher, coming up in the 98th percentile in that category in the entire NBA. His stature and athleticism would allow him to be a superb lob target, and he could create some mayhem inside the arc on the offensive end of the floor.

Having said that, defense is where Robinson really shines. At 7'0" with a plus wingspan, Robinson is an incredible defender, with his athleticism also allowing him to be a switchable defender. For a team that direly needs more quality on the defensive end of the floor, Mitchell Robinson's abilities will prove to be incredibly tempting for the Golden State Warriors.

For everything he brings to the table, especially at such a young age, it would be wise for the Golden State Warriors to give away the second pick to obtain Mitchell Robinson and the eighth pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

After playing for the New York Knicks for two years, Mitchell Robinson would be licking his lips thinking about a chance to play with the Golden State Warriors.

It is no secret that the Knicks are a horribly run franchise. The once-storied team is now languishing at the lowest parts of the NBA, with there being nothing more than a bleak future awaiting the team.

Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors are in a much better place. With superstars Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson coming back, the team will be contenders for an NBA Championship next season. And with the front office of the franchise proven to be one of the best in the NBA, there is almost a guarantee that the team will get better with each passing year.

If this NBA trade rumor really were to come true, Mitchell Robinson would be giddily excited at the thought of what his future could hold with the Golden State Warriors.
