Gasol's trade to the Hornets stalls

Despite spending his entire NBA career with the Memphis Grizzlies, Marc Gasol has been made available for trade ahead of the deadline. The Grizzlies are once again set to miss out on the playoffs, and as part of a rebuild, the team is looking to trade away their two highest earners in Mike Conley and Gasol.

The Hornets have been in discussions to acquire Gasol over the last 72 hours, however, Sean Deveney of Sporting News is reporting that talks between the Grizzlies and Hornets have now stalled:

But league sources told Sporting News that the Hornets and Grizzlies do not have an agreement in place, and that there is increasing skepticism on both sides that a trade can be brought to bear ahead of Thursday’s NBA trade deadline. The Hornets have had interest in Gasol for some time, but a deal has not progressed.
Gasol has started 53 games for the Grizzlies this season, averaging 15.7 points, 8.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game.
