Oklahoma City Thunder beat the San Antonio Spurs in Texas 95-91 to take a 3-2 lead in the Western Conference semi-finals today. Point guard Russell Westbrook top scored for Thunder with 35 points and 11 assists to take his team over the line, with Thunder edging out the Spurs in the final minutes of the game.

Kevin Durant backed up Westbrook’s attack with 23 points. The win has meant that if Thunder win their next match – in Oklahoma against the Spurs – they will be able to seal the series.

The Spurs, meanwhile, have now lost two consecutive games at home, despite being close to victory today. Only trailing by two points – 90-92 to the visitors – in the final minute of the game, the Spurs were unable to build on an otherwise competitive match.

Kawhi Leonard top scored for the Spurs with 26 points, but with Tony Parker missing out on a couple of vital shots, the team lost out in the dying moments of the match.

Danny Green and LaMarcus Aldridge also contributed to the Spurs’ scoring, but an insurmountable attack from Russell Westbrook and some sloppy shotmaking from their own side, compounded by a lack of momentum, saw them lose on home ground for the second straight time.
