The NBA/WNBA junior City Skills basketball Challenge was held at the J.J. Indoor Stadium (Kilpauk) here on April 25 at 3 p.m. This event is a continuation of the “Train the trainers program” organized by NBA in Chennai on 23rd and 24th March 2011.
The Challenge is a programme which tests a player’s ability in dribbling, passing and shooting. Students from 100 schools took part.
The Chennai leg of the skills challenge, aimed at identifying ten of Chennai’s most technically sound players from over 100 schools in the City, drew some 250 participants between the ages of 10 and 12 who went through three fundamental drills — dribble duel, the defender and gauntlet.
