#2 Pelicans remain reluctant to trade J.J. Redick
Following his impressive two-year spell with the Philadelphia 76ers, the Pelicans opted to make a splurge in free agency by signing J.J. Redick to a two-year, $26.5 million contract. The front office hoped that the addition of the veteran would boost the team's chances of making the playoffs, although, despite Redick's best efforts, the Pelicans are in serious danger of missing out on the postseason.
With the playoffs looking unlikely, recent speculation has claimed that the Pelicans would make the 35-year-old available in the weeks leading up to the trade deadline, although Marc Stein of the New York Times is reporting that the team remains reluctant to trade the 3-point specialist.
