The New Orleans Pelicans and Golden State Warriors lock horns on Tuesday at the Chase Center for their first matchup of the 2024-25 NBA season. The Pelicans and Warriors are both off to a 2-1 start and are coming off losses. New Orleans lost 125-103 in their last game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday, while the Warriors lost 112-104 to the LA Clippers.
The Pelicans' loss was a bigger upset. Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram struggled heavily, tallying only 14 points apiece. Williamson shot a measly 3 of 12, while Ingram went 7 of 17 from the floor. The Pelicans trailed by 12 at the half and never recovered after that.
Meanwhile, after impressive blowout wins over the Utah Jazz and Portland, the Warriors stumbled in their first game against a playoff-worthy opponent, the LA Clippers. The Warriors couldn't deal with LA's size on the frontline, led by Ivica Zubac.
Meanwhile, Steph Curry also left the game injured early in the fourth with the team down 10. Andrew Wiggins' 29 points kept the Warriors in contention to win, but they couldn't get over the hump in the clutch.
