New York Knicks 2024 NBA Mock Draft: Projected picks and more

New York Knicks v Chicago Bulls
New York Knicks 2024 NBA Mock Draft

The New York Knicks have two picks in the first round and one pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft. The Knicks own the 25th overall pick after finishing with the sixth-best record in the league. They also have the 24th overall pick that they acquired from the Dallas Mavericks as part of the Kristaps Porzingis trade.

New York's No. 38 pick in the second round was from the Memphis Grizzlies as part of the Ed Davis deal in 2020. With the Knicks' trade to get Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets, it means they are unlikely to bring back Isaiah Hartenstein.

OG Anunoby will be their main priority in free agency and Hartenstein could garner a lot of interest from teams that could price out the Knicks. Nevertheless, they have this year's draft to improve their roster ahead of the 2024-25 NBA season.

#1 - Kel'el Ware | Center | Indiana

One of the fastest-rising prospects in many draft boards is Kel'el Ware of Indiana. Ware is known for his length and athleticism at the center position, something that Tom Thibodeau likes. He could also provide cover for the often-injured Mitchell Robinson as well.

#2 - Kyle Filipowski | Center | Duke

While some draft boards have Kyle Filipowski in the late first round or even the second round, the New York Knicks could use his size. He could help fortify the frontcourt that will lose Isaiah Hartenstein. Another asset in Filipowski's game is his shooting from beyond the arc, adding more layers to the Knicks' offense.

#3 - DaRon Holmes | Power Forward | Dayton

Precious Achiuwa will be a restricted free agent for the New York Knicks this offseason. If a team offers him something the Knicks can match, they could go looking for a replacement in the draft. DaRon Holmes is a high-scoring power forward out of Dayton with shooting and a similar game to Naz Reid.

#4 - Ryan Dunn | Small Forward | Virginia

One of the reasons why the New York Knicks acquired Mikal Bridges and made OG Anunoby their priority is to keep up with the Boston Celtics. Bridges and Anunoby are great perimeter defenders, so the Knicks might look to add more. Ryan Dunn is one of the top wing defenders in the nation last season although there's been questions about his shooting.

#5 - Jonathan Mogbo | Power Forward | San Francisco

The New York Knicks are looking for a big man and wing defender. Maybe they can get both in the second round with Jonathan Mogbo out of San Francisco. Mogbo is an undersized power forward with a great wingspan and standing reach. He could be a steal in the draft if he can provide a lot of energy for the Knicks off the bench.
