The New York Knicks continue adding to their depth this offseason by signing veteran guard Landry Shamet to a one-year contract. Their other moves included trading for Mikal Bridges and re-signing OG Anunoby. New York has shored up their backcourt with Shamet's signing, who also improves their floor spacing.
Shamet is a career 38.4% 3-point shooter. He has had significant stints in Philadelphia, Los Angeles (Clippers), Brooklyn, Phoenix and Washington. He has made a billing as a bonafide perimeter threat, an area where the Knicks have consistently looked to improve over the past few years.
The Knicks' depth looks as solid as ever, with multiple scorers and shooters. Here's how they could line up as constructed after Shamet's addition.

Dissecting New York Knicks' chances of winning the Eastern Conference
The New York Knicks' consistent growth has seen their stock improve as one of the premier contenders to win it all next season. The reigning champions, Boston Celtics, are the only team ahead of them, but New York's new additions seem fit to counter what the 18-time NBA champions possess.
The Mikal Bridges trade, in particular, elevated the Knicks' chances of improving on their second-round finish from last year. Bridges add to their perimeter defense alongside OG Anunoby, Donte DiVincenzo and Josh Hart while giving the Knicks another consistent 15 ppg scorer who could take the burden off Josh Brunson and Julius Randle.
New York also boasts excellent floor spacing, with at least nine players on the team who can shoot well above league average on any given day.
The only issue the Knicks may face with this amount of talent is the distribution of the offensive workload. With so many scorers, they could struggle with chemistry early on unless all players buy into sacrificing their roles to a degree.
Meanwhile, from a roster construction perspective, the Knicks still need to address their center depth. Isaiah Hartenstein's departure leaves them with limited options at the five. Mitchell Robinson is reliable when healthy, but keeping his injury-prone history in mind, the Knicks still require another solid big.
Precious Achiuwa and Jericho Sims are the immediate options, and neither might match Hartenstein's impact as of now unless either produces a breakout season.
