The New York Knicks visit the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday in the third installment of this season's "Battle of New York." The Knicks will aim to improve to 3-0 against their crosstown foes after securing consecutive home victories against them on Nov. 15 and 17.
New York (28-16) is coming off Monday's 119-110 home win over the Atlanta Hawks, led by star point guard Jalen Brunson's game-high 34-point performance. The near-full-strength, third-ranked Eastern Conference squad will strive to take care of business on the second night of a back-to-back and start another winning streak.
On the other hand, Brooklyn (14-29) will attempt to snap a three-game losing skid. The floundering franchise, ravaged by injuries, most recently got blown out 127-101 during Sunday's road clash against the OKC Thunder.
While the Knicks have one of the NBA's premier starting fives, headlined by Brunson and star center Karl-Anthony Towns, the Cameron Johnson-led Nets lack a clear centerpiece. Thus, if New York locks in, it should be in store for a relatively easy victory.

The interborough matchup will also feature a potential revenge storyline. Knicks wing Mikal Bridges is set to play his first game in Brooklyn since being traded by the organization over the offseason. The Nets shipped him away for a draft pick-centered haul, expediting their rebuild.

The Knicks again project to be near full strength, as only two players are listed on their injury report entering Tuesday.
Center Mitchell Robinson remains out amid his recovery from offseason left ankle surgery. Joining Robinson on the sideline is rookie wing Kevin McCullar Jr. (knee).
New York could also opt to be cautious with some of its veterans on the second leg of a back-to-back against a lesser opponent.
Brooklyn Nets injury report
Conversely, the Nets have an extensive injury report, with multiple key players out of commission.
Shooting guard Cam Thomas (hamstring), forward Ziaire Williams (ankle) and veteran sharpshooter Bojan Bogdanovic (foot) have all been ruled out. The same goes for sophomore wing Maxwell Lewis (lower leg) and forward Trendon Watford (hamstring). Additionally, guard De'Anthony Melton (knee) remains out for the season.
Meanwhile, point guards D'Angelo Russell (hamstring) and Ben Simmons (illness) are considered questionable, further muddying Brooklyn's depth chart.
