The 2024 Emirates NBA Cup starts on Tuesday night with eight games scheduled, including the New York Knicks versus Philadelphia 76ers East Group A matchup. It's the first game between these two teams this season. The Knicks eliminated the Sixers in six games in the first round of the playoffs.

New York had a pretty busy offseason, acquiring Mikal Bridges and Karl-Anthony Towns via trades. However, the Knicks' depth chart is not looking great, especially with a bunch of injuries to start the season. They have a current record of 4-5, with four of the losses coming away from Madison Square Garden.

Meanwhile, the Sixers are 2-7 and have had trouble with injuries like the Knicks. Joel Embiid hasn't played a game yet, while Paul George is coming off a minor knee injury from the preseason. Tyrese Maxey is currently out with a hamstring strain, something that has been common in the NBA early in the campaign.

New York Knicks vs Philadelphia 76ers injury reports

New York Knicks

The New York Knicks have six players on their injury report for tonight's Emirates NBA Cup game in Philadelphia. Four players are listed as out, while two are tagged as questionable. Miles McBride and Cameron Payne are game-time decisions due to an inflamed left knee and a strained left hamstring, respectively.

Precious Achiuwa is dealing with a left hamstring strain, while Mitchell Robinson is still recovering from ankle surgery. Kevin McCullar Jr. and Boo Buie III are not injured but are currently assigned to the Knicks' NBA G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks.

Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers, meanwhile, have four players on their injury report. Some good news though, is that Joel Embiid is not one of them. Embiid is set to make his season debut tonight against the Knicks. He missed the first nine games of the campaign because of left knee injury management.

Tyrese Maxey remains sidelined with a strained right hamstring, while Adem Bona, Justin Edwards and Lester Quinones are not injured. They were recently sent to Wilmington to play for the Delaware Blue Coats, the Sixers' NBA G League affiliate team.
