Back in 2022, Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards starred in "Hustle," a basketball movie starring renowned actor Adam Sandler. In addition to Edwards, the movie also featured another player NBA fans are familiar with, Juancho Hernangomez, as well as NBA legend Kenny 'The Jet' Smith.

Edwards played a trash-talking NBA hopeful named Kermit Wilts, with the NBA star leaning on his competitive nature to make the character come to life on the big screen.

While the movie was pretty well-received by fans, don't expect Anthony Edwards to dive head-first into the world of Hollywood. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Edwards reflected on his big-screen debut, saying that although he respects the craft, he doesn't have much of an interest in acting again:

“I don't know, man. I'm not going to lie. That's hard. I'm not going to lie. I gained a new respect for acting once I did that movie. I don't think I'm fit for that job."

With the Minnesota Timberwolves currently sitting in ninth place in the Western Conference as the team looks to get back to the NBA Finals, Edwards seems focused on the task at hand rather than expanding his acting resume.

"A dream come true": Anthony Edwards opens up on playing against his favorite point guard of all time

This year, Anthony Edwards played his first career Christmas Day game against Luka Doncic, Kyrie Irving, and the Dallas Mavericks. While the game tragically saw Doncic go down with an injury, Anthony Edwards was able to help lead Minnesota to a 105-99 win with 26 points.

After the win, Edwards spoke with members of the press in the locker room, saying that Irving is his favorite point guard of all time.

"I've been watching him for a long time and he's my favorite point guard of all time. Me and my brother, we used to always watch him, watch Kyrie highlights," Edwards said.
"So that's all we talk about every time that I play Kyrie, me and my brother just talk about like, 'Bro we used to sit in front of the TV and just pull up on YouTube Kyrie Irving crossovers,' so it's a dream come true to play against him honestly," Edwards added.

Following Wednesday's clash on Christmas, the two teams will collide once more on Jan. 22 in Dallas in what will be their final meeting of the regular season. Of course, with both teams looking to cement their place as championship contenders, there's a chance these two meet in the postseason as well.
