With a week to go until results are announced, NBA All-Star voting is still in full swing. On Thursday afternoon, the league provided the latest snapshot of how things are shaping up thus far.
Starting in the Eastern Conference, the player with the top amount of votes is Giannis Antetokounmpo with 3.5 million. Rounding out the top three in the frontcourt is Jayson Tatum (2.8 million) and New York Knicks big man Karl-Anthony Towns. Holding down the top two spots in the backcourt are LaMelo Ball (1.9 million) and Donovan Mitchell (1.5 million)
One noteworthy name towards the bottom of vote-getters is Joel Embiid with 383,000. The former MVP has struggled to stay on the floor, appearing in just 13 games.
Sliding over to the Western Conference, Nikola Jokic is leading NBA All-Star voting with 2.9 million. Just behind him are longtime superstars LeBron James (2.5 million) and Kevin Durant (2.4) million. When it comes to guards, the top two spots are held by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (2.4 million) and Steph Curry (1.7 million).

NBA All-Star voting can still drastically change
While some players might be surprisingly low in NBA All-Star voting, there's still time to fix that. The league has not one but two more days scheduled where votes will count for triple: Jan .17 and Jan. 20.
In terms of when NBA All-Star voting comes to an end, votes will stop being counted at 11:59 pm Eastern Time on Jan. 20. After that, the starters for each conference will be announced on a special edition of Inside The NBA on January 23rd.
It's worth noting that fan voting doesn't count for 100% of the vote anymore. Instead, only 50% comes from fans, with the other 50% coming from media and players. The reserves for each team are then selected by coaches around the league.
This year, the All-Star weekend will be held at Chase Center, home of Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors. The festivities will begin on Friday, Feb. 14, with the All-Star Game itself being played on Feb. 16.
The 2025 All-Star game will mark the first time the NBA tries out its new format. Instead of one game played on Sunday, a mini-tournament of four teams will take place.
