Top 5 prospects for the 2025 NBA draft
The 2025 NBA draft class is set to be one of the more exciting young groups in recent memory. With Flagg leading the way, here are the top five prospects of the upcoming class.
#5 Kasparas Jakucionis
At 6-foot-5, Kasparas Jakucionis has an advantage over other point guards in this class. His height can make him an interchangeable player, playing both guard positions. Jakucionis is playing his freshman year at Illinois, although originally from Lithuania.
The youngster has played 14 games this season, averaging 16.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.4 assists on 41.1% shooting from deep. According to NBA Draft Room's mock draft, Jakucionis could join the Utah Jazz with the fifth pick.
#4 Tre Johnson
Tre Johnson is one of the best offensive players in college this season. At 6-foot-5, he's a three-level scorer and has drawn comparisons to NBA legend Richard Hamilton. Johnson is the leading scorer for the Texas Longhorns and has proven he can play at an elite level.
Johnson is averaging 18.9 points and 2.2 assists in his freshman year. The shooting guard is making 47.5% of his field goals and 41.1% of his long-range attempts.
#3 Airious Bailey
Airious Bailey is one of the most physically talented players in this year's class. Bailey is 6-foot-10 and can put the ball on the floor. He's been compared to players like Tracy McGrady and Josh Smith. Offensively, the forward has a good touch in his jumper and can stretch defenses with his outside stroke.
On the defensive end, the projected top pick is an excellent weakside defender with his length and shot-blocking ability. He's mocked as the third pick and could join the Toronto Raptors.
#2 Dylan Harper
Dylan Harper, the best shooting guard prospect this season, is the son of five-time champion Ron Harper. Harper is 6-foot-5 and has similarities with James Harden. He isn't as athletic as other players and relies on his fundamentals.
Harper is playing for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, averaging 20.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists. His 35.2% shooting from deep can still be improved as he further develops his game.
#1 Cooper Flagg
The Washington Wizards is predicted to be the team that drafts Cooper Flagg in June. The 6-foot-9 forward is the ultimate prize in the next draft class and has been compared to former NBA stars like Andrei Kirilinko, Scottie Pippen and current star Jayson Tatum.
At Duke, Flagg has become the star, averaging 19.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists.
