Jimmy Butler's former teammate, Victor Oladipo, opened up about his trade drama with the Miami Heat. Butler and the Heat are not on good terms with each other since the star forward made his feelings public about wanting out of South Beach. Since then, Jimmy hasn't performed like his usual self, which also forced Miami to suspend him for seven games while they attempted to trade him to another team.

Victor Oladipo, who last played for the Heat in the 2022-23 season, shared his opinions on the Butler-Heat drama. Oladipo can't really give a clear take on the situation, especially since he isn't part of Miami's locker room. However, he does find it unfortunate how both parties aren't handling the situation well.

"I think it takes two to tango," Oladipo said. "It's just unfortunate that neither side is handling it the way they wanted to be. Jimmy is just doing what Jimmy does. I don’t think this a shocker to anyone who’s viewed his career and how he’s carried himself… I just hope he finds his joy 1 and 2 end on good terms.”

Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra breaks silence on Jimmy Butler drama

Jimmy Butler has made his feelings clear that he no longer wants to play for the Miami Heat. His relationship with the team was strained after Heat President Pat Riley told his star player to zip his mouth in the 2024 NBA Playoffs. Since then, Butler has acted up, which forced Miami to suspend him for seven games due to acts detrimental to the team.

Butler was suspended for the second time this season on Wednesday after the forward missed a team flight. As a result, Jimmy wasn't available for the Heat's matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. He also won't make an appearance against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday.

With all the drama stirring in the pot, Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra finally broke his silence and expressed his thoughts on the drama. Miami has struggled to make the playoff picture this season due to Jimmy Butler's issues with the team. Both parties' problems have clearly affected the team as they are sitting in ninth place in the Eastern Conference.

Spoelstra talked with his team and told them that the ongoing drama was simply another day in the office. The Heat needs to power through the current circumstances and continue to move forward instead of dwelling on the issue.

“The point that I made to our team is get used to it,” Spoelstra said. “Get over it. This is the NBA life; this is the life we chose. If you think it’s going to be predictable, you’re really mistaken.”

The NBA trade deadline will fall on February 7. Miami has approximately two weeks to find a deal that would send Jimmy Butler away to another team.
