It's impossible to talk about NBA history without bringing Dennis Rodman's name into the conversation. Whether it was for his suffocating and physical defense, his unmatched rebounding, or his larger-than-life personality, Rodman is one of the most iconic characters in sports and entertainment history.

Now 63, Rodman is no spring chicken. Even so, he's still clearly taking great care of his body. He just shared a post on Instagram in which he showed an old shirtless photo of himself, followed by a clip of him working out:

"Muscle up," he captioned the post.

NBA players clearly have a privileged gene pool and physique, but Rodman has always been very disciplined when it comes to his workout routines.

Years ago, former Chicago Bulls assistant GM Jim Stack raved about his work ethic and regimes:

“After he would play 45 minutes in a game, he would go in the weight room for an hour-and-a-half. I’d see Dennis in there, and he’s working himself into a lather riding the exercise bike, lifting weights. That always stuck with me. The guy never gets tired. He was a freak like Michael (Jordan) in that respect. He was bionic,” Stack said.

Dennis Rodman's condition once stunned Kevin Garnett

Rodman has never been very outspoken, yet his play has been an inspiration to many players who came after him, including a young Kevin Garnett.

The legendary power forward was just entering the league when he first got a chance to play against Rodman. Then, after the game, he was in awe of his insane physical condition and stamina:

“Bro, we played these motherf**kers, he played 43 minutes. I think he ended up getting kicked out because he kicked a cameraman and sh*t. I go in the back, lord, [he was] on the treadmill in combat boots, up to his goddamn knees, running on a 15 incline, talking to me. I looked at him like on some mystique, bro. And I saw his superpower," he said on August 9.

Rodman's insane athleticism and obsession with his craft helped him become arguably the greatest rebounder of all time. Still, Garnett believes he was way more versatile and skilled than people gave him credit for:

“He could slide, left to right, laterally with anybody," he continued. "He was 6’9 and had the movement of a point guard. He played like a Draymond but more in control.”

Watching an aging player work out like that surely showed Garnett the way to success in this league. Now, a Hall of Fame career later, he might want to thank him for that.
