During the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul boxing match in November, Hall of Famer Shaquille O'Neal said that he was interested in hosting a night of fights between NBA and NFL players, along with Rob Gronkowski. However, when the NFL legend appeared on camera, he said that the two of them should fight in the main event.

Since then, there hasn't been much talk about it until O'Neal discussed the potential fight on "The Big Podcast" on Wednesday. This led to Gronkowski discussing the idea on "The Sports Media Podcast" on Thursday along with his former teammate, Julian Edelman.

"I will fight Shaq, man, I will 100%," Gronkowski said. "If Shaq wants to fight, the price is right, I'll 100% do it. I'm not going to do it for $10 but if it's a good amount of money I will fight Shaq in the boxing ring 100%."

Evander Holyfield agrees to train Shaquille O'Neal for Rob Gronkowski fight

Wednesday's episode of "The Big Podcast" featured legendary heavyweight boxer Evander Holyfield as a guest. At one point, Shaquille O'Neal said that if a fight between him and Rob Gronkowski happens, he wants Holyfield to train him.

However, when O'Neal mentioned training 2-3 weeks for the fight, Holyfield was quick to give him a reality check.

"I'd do that," Holyfield said. "I know I would. ... It's gonna take you more than (2-3 weeks) to get in shape like you want to get in. You want to win, don't you?"

While nothing has been finalized, it sounds like both guys are interested. Considering the amount of attention celebrity and influencer boxing events have generated in recent years, there seems to be a market for an O'Neal/Gronkowski fight.

The real question now is whether the two can agree to terms or if the money winds up as a sticking point when it comes to negotiations.
