Six-time NBA champion Scottie Pippen doubled up on spotlighting the potential of Bitcoin, likening it to his 1991 Chicago Bulls team, which started a dynasty, winning six titles in the '90s.
Pippen wrote on X (formerly Twitter) Tuesday:
"Bitcoin in 2024 is giving me flashbacks to the Bulls in '91... a dynasty just starting. Get ready for what's next."

The post came on the heels of what he wrote on September 5 when he predicted that the value of Bitcoin would be at $84,650 on November 5. He cited that Satoshi Nakamoto, credited for developing the cryptocurrency, came to him in a dream and told him of the value spike. He, however, made it clear that he was not giving any financial advice.
Pippen's post read:
"Satoshi Nakamoto visited me in my dream last night and predicted that #Bitcoin would be at $84,650 on November 5, 2024. Not financial advice."
At the time the Basketball Hall-of-Famer made his Bitcoin prediction, the cryptocurrency was trading at $56,849.73, leaving many ridiculing him. However, lo and behold, by the November 5 timeline, trading reached $71,243.59 and, on Tuesday, was on the verge of reaching a record $90,000.
If Scottie Pippen acted on his own prediction, it is safe to say that he has earned quite a substantial amount.
Scottie Pippen, other NBA stars venture into Bitcoin trading
Scottie Pippen is only one among the many NBA players who have ventured into the world of Bitcoin, looking to capitalize on the potential of high returns for their investments.
Among those reported to have also ventured in cryptocurrency are four-time NBA champion Steph Curry, Dallas Mavericks stars Klay Thompson and Spencer Dinwiddie, and retired players Andre Iguodala, Baron Davis, Matt Barnes and Spencer Hawes.
Dinwiddie even offered to have his contract (back in 2019 while still with the Brooklyn Nets) to be converted into a digital investment platform to allow fans to invest in him using cryptocurrency, further manifesting his belief in the platform.
Of course, Bitcoin also has its fair share of doubters, considering the volatile nature of the market. However, there are high expectations for cryptocurrency in the United States following the election of President Donald Trump, who has shown a pro-crypto stance.
