Las Vegas Aces star center A'ja Wilson brought the crowd to their feet Sunday, surpassing Sophia Young-Malcolm to become the all-time leader for points in an Aces uniform. She reached the milestone in their 104-85 rout of the Dallas Wings, earning a special standing ovation after sinking two free throws and topping Young-Malcolm's 4,300-point mark.

The two-time MVP and this year's frontrunner was unstoppable Sunday. She scored 28 points to go along with 10 boards and three 3-pointers, her first made shots from beyond the arc in July.

"I'm so grateful to have this moment, my teammates sharing it with me, this crowd sharing it with me," Wilson shared with CBS Sports. "But the job's not done. we still got a lot more we gotta learn and grow from, but I'm definitely gonna take in this moment."

Aces coach Becky Hammon calls A'ja Wilson 'the greatest player to put on this uniform'

A'ja Wilson was drafted with the first overall pick in the 2018 WNBA draft after a legendary college career for the South Carolina Gamecocks. She was tied for third in scoring in her rookie year and has since proven herself to be one of the most dominant forces the WNBA has ever seen.

She earned the utmost praise from her head coach, Becky Hammon, following the game.

“She’s the greatest player to put on this uniform. Players like her, people like her don’t come around often," Hammon said.

A'ja Wilson has now scored 28-plus points in three of her last four outings, bringing her season totals up to 26.9 points and 10.9 rebounds per game. If she maintains this level of play, she'll become the first WNBA player ever to average over 25 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks per season, and most likely take home her third MVP.

She shared a moment with Young-Malcolm, who was in attendance, after the game. Young-Malcolm never wore an Aces uniform, but played for the San Antonio Stars from 2006-2015, before the franchise relocated to Las Vegas. The three-time All-Star averaged 14.3 points and 6 rebounds throughout her career.

Aces blow past struggling Dallas Wings team

Aside from A'ja Wilson's special night, the Aces came together to tear apart a Dallas Wings team that now is tied with the Washington Mystics for the worst record in the league (5-17). The Wings came out strong, holding a 27-25 lead going into the second quarter, but the Aces' stars began to shine as the game went on.

Kelsey Plum scored 23 points, Jackie Young added 18, and Chelsea Gray, back in the lineup and continuing to help turn the Aces season around, scored 12.

Wings star guard Arike Ogunbowale struggled as she dropped 13 points, just her third game under 19 points all season. Odyssey Sims was the lone bright spot for the Wings, scoring a season-high 25 points on 11-18 shooting in her sixth game played this season.
