Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball made an impressive play early in the first quarter against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. He stole a pass from Tyrese Haliburton to Andrew Nembhard before sprinting for a fastbreak attack. Haliburton chased after Ball, who finished the sequence with a nifty lefty layup.

The Bulls broadcaster covering the game reacted to the play:

“He’s able to swerve, bend that corner.”

The line got a reaction from those who were familiar with the phrase. A week ago, Lonzo Ball’s brother, LiAngelo Ball, known as "G3" in the rap world, released a debut track called “Tweaker.” The first line of the chorus goes:

“I might swerve, bend that corner, Woah”

Gelo’s NBA career hasn’t turned out as he hoped for, but he may have found his place in the music world. Lonzo and LaMelo Ball have been spotted jiving to the hit released by their basketball-turned-artist brother.

Lonzo Ball’s play was one of the few bright sequences for the Bulls against the Pacers. Chicago trailed 29-18 after one quarter and 100-76 heading into the fourth period. Ball, who will likely sit out the rest of the game, had five points, three rebounds, two steals, one block and one assist on the night.

Lonzo Ball is not taking credit for lyrics in LiAngelo Ball’s “Tweaker”

Lonzo Ball has said on a few occasions that he would have been a rapper if he did not make it to the NBA. During his nearly three-year absence from basketball to recover from brutal knee injuries, he would sometimes write songs and record them in the studio.

When LiAngelo Ball’s “Tweaker” became a sensation, fans promptly credited the Bulls guard for the lyrics. "Zo" went on X/Twitter to shut down the rumors:

“Only credit I deserve is the cover art lol G really that!”

"Zo" and "Gelo" also have a podcast together and the former has repeatedly said that the latter has untapped potential. The former LA Lakers star likely referred to basketball, but it turns out that potential is in the music world. LiAngelo Ball isn't giving up his dream of teaming up with his brothers in the NBA, but for now, his rap career is taking center stage.
