"Adam Silver gonna suspend them for 10 games" - NBA fans erupt after wild fight leads to 6 ejections during Heat vs Rockets game

It seems like the NBA is trying to bring back some intensity to games with another on-court fight. Only a few days removed from the Dallas Mavericks-Phoenix Suns scuffle, there was another incident in Houston between the Rockets and the Miami Heat.

With 35.7 seconds left in the game and the Heat up 99-93, Amen Thompson and Tyler Herro got into an altercation. Thompson slammed Herro to the floor by grabbing his jersey, with coaches, staff, security and players trying to stop the melee.

Four players were ejected, Thompson, Herro, Jalen Green and Terry Rozier, with Rockets head coach Ime Udoka and assistant Ben Sullivan also getting booted for their roles in the fight. The Heat would go on to beat Houston 104-100 to improve to 16-14 for the season.

NBA fans erupted on social media following another fight that would certainly go viral at any moment. Adam Silver has already suspended Naji Marshall, Jusuf Nurkic and PJ Washington for their fight during the Dallas Mavericks-Phoenix Suns game on Friday.

It will be interesting to see if Silver would hand out the same punishment for all the players involved in Sunday's scuffle.

"Two fights in one week, now that's how you get them ratings back up," another fan commented.

The league has mellowed down on fights since the infamous Malice in the Palace in 2004. Then-commissioner David Stern began cleaning up the image of players, which remains to this day.

"The 90’s basketball era is laughing at this," one fan opined.

"Oh they are REALLY trying to get the ratings up now lol. It’s like NFL going on Netflix and doing well on Christmas has the NBA shook," another fan remarked.

Amen Thompson had five points, five rebounds and five assists at the time of his ejection. Jalen Green scored 19 points, while Tyler Herro and Terry Rozier had 27 and 14 points, respectively.

NBA likely to suspend and fine players involved in Heat-Rockets fight

According to NBA reporter Keith Smith, the league will be very busy handing out suspensions to players in the Heat-Rockets scuffle. Amen Thompson is likely to be suspended the most since he instigated the fight by pulling down Tyler Herro's jersey.

It's a different situation from the Mavericks-Suns fight since punches were thrown there. It seemed like no punches happened in Houston, only some pushing and shoving, which is a typical fight in the NBA.

As for the coaches involved, they left the bench, so they will at least get a fine. The worst outcome is possibly a one-game suspension.
