The NBA Las Vegas Summer League has finally come to an end with the Miami Heat on top for the first time in team history. The Heat beat out the Memphis Grizzlies 120-118 in overtime in the title bout on Monday.
Fans reacted to the nail-biting victory with cheer and some sarcasm. It was an impressive victory, capping off a 6-0 run in the Las Vegas league and leaving the city as the only undefeated squad.
Pelle Larsson scored in the lane to help the Heat hit the target 120 scores before the Grizzlies could, and the game was so intense some fans questioned the integrity of the officiating.

"LETS GOOOO AFTER THE REFS TRIED TO CHEAT US," commented one fan.
Some fans were sarcastic about the victory, downplaying the championship because it takes place in the offseason with players mostly trying to make the team.
"We finally won a championship," wrote one fan.
"THERE'LL BE A PARADE DOWN BISCAYNE BOULEVARD!!," wrote another.
"Just give us the Larry O'Brien now," commented another fan.
But on the other end of the sarcasm were some fans who appreciated the effort the Heat put into this offseason that led to their victory.
"This means something to me man," wrote one fan with a video compilation of players celebrating big moments.
"Classic Miami Heat draft masterclass," commented one fan.
Miami Heat win first ever NBA Las Vegas Summer League title
Miami Heat guard Josh Christopher won the MVP award for his team-high 24 points. They were also paced by 2024 No. 15 overall pick Kel'el Ware, who had 21 points and 11 rebounds. They also got help from undrafted 25-year-olds Alondes Williams, Cole Swider, and Larsson, who each had 21, 19, and 16 points respectively.
They shot a remarkable 17-34 from 3-point range, and held off strong performances from Grizzlies forwards Jake LaRavia and GG Jackson and guard Scottie Pippen Jr. LaRavia scored 32, Jackson finished with 28 and Pippen Jr. scored 29 with 11 assists in the loss.
Miami trailed slightly throughout the game before tying things in the fourth quarter and forcing race-to-120 points over time. Larsson hit a tough shot through contact off a drive into the middle of the paint to close out the game and give the Miami Heat their first-ever Summer League title.
