Numerous LA Lakers players, coaches, and fans alike were affected by the horrific wildfires blazing through the greater Los Angeles, California, area. Among those who suffered losses due to the fires was Lakers coach JJ Redick. While he was out on the road with his team, Redick's family's home tragically burned down due to the wildfires. Redick confirmed the unfortunate news on Jan. 10, becoming emotional while talking to reporters.
For the NBA's rivalry week, the Lakers were set to take on the Golden State Warriors for the first time since the wildfires blazed through Los Angeles, with all eyes on the two California teams. Following LA's narrow victory over Golden State on Saturday, Steph Curry sent two of his Warriors jerseys for Redick's two sons with his bodyguard to replenish lost memorabilia from the fires.
On Saturday, ESPN reporter Dave McMenamin tweeted:
"Steph Curry’s bodyguard found JJ Redick after the game with a couple of Steph’s jerseys to give to his sons, helping to replenish their memorabilia collection that was lost in the fires."

Redick's Lakers defeated Curry's Warriors 118-108 behind double-double performances from LeBron James and Anthony Davis. James scored 25 points on 12-of-25 shooting, dished out 12 assists and grabbed five rebounds. Davis scored a game-high 36 points on 13-of-23 shooting, grabbed 13 rebounds and three assists, with three steals and a block on the defensive end.
The Lakers overcame seven double-digit scoring efforts across the Warriors' rotation.
Chris Paul and Victor Wembanyama gift JJ Redick's sons with jerseys after the Lakers matchup
Steph Curry wasn't the only player to offer up game-worn jerseys for JJ Redick's sons. Following the Lakers' matchup versus the San Antonio Spurs on Jan. 13, Victor Wembanyama and Chris Paul each gifted Reddick's sons with signed game-worn jerseys.
Host of NBA Countdown Malika Andrews shared a photo of Reddick's sons happily boasting their new jerseys on X.
The matchup was originally scheduled for Jan. 11 but was moved back three days to Tuesday, Jan. 14 due to the wildfires. LA's matchup versus the Charlotte Hornets was also postponed, originally scheduled for Jan. 9. The Lakers will gear up for a matchup versus Charlotte at Spectrum Center on Monday.
