"All this for Bronny and Bryce?"- Fans react as LeBron James' business partner gets involved in formation of basketball league to rival NBA

NBA fans shared their two cents after reports of LeBron James’s business partner, Maverick Carter reportedly looking to raise $5 billion to establish an international basketball league to rival the NBA. Fans were quick to reference Bronny James and his brother Bryce Maximus upon hearing the news.

Per Front Office Sports, Carter has been reportedly leading a group of investors to raise the required money for the league.

Bronny and Bryce were immediately in focus given Carter's connection to James. One of the fans wrote:

Another fan wrote:

"Lebron isn’t interested in creating a new league, he’s establishing Leverage. He will force the NBA to allow him to acquire ownership of an NBA expansion franchise."

One of the fans hinted at massive changes ringing in:

"Maverick Carter ain't playing - he's about to shake up the entire basketball universe. $5B to challenge the NBA? That's not just a league, that's a REVOLUTION. LeBron's squad always thinking 10 steps ahead while everyone else is still doing basic math."

One fan had doubts:

"Competing with the top established professional sports league in any given sport rarely ends well."

Another echoed a similar sentiment:

"This is a fail waiting to happen..the NBA viewerships are already down lol"

According to Bloomberg, the likes of UBS Group AG and Evercore Inc. are organizations involved in helping raise the moolah. At the time of writing, reports added that LeBron James was not part of Carter's efforts. It's worth noting that the duo has already launched UNINTERRUPTED.


LeBron James had reacted to Maverick Carter's The SpringHill Company's latest partner

LeBron James was proud of what the SpringHill company, an organization he founded with Maverick Carter in 2020. The Lakers superstar inked a merger with Fulwell 73, a production company founded by Ben Winston, James Corden, Leo Pearlman, Ben Turner, and Gabe Turner in 2005.

James later responded on social media with a crisp one-word take on the venture.

"Proud"

Fulwell 73 has some impressive shows under it's banner including 'The Late Late Show with James Corden' and 'The Kardashians'. James was ecstatic with the partnership and made his feelings known. Now, it remains to be seen how he reacts to Carter's latest.
