Paul Pierce vows to listen to Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" until next June

Among those most excited to see the Boston Celtics win the NBA title this season is Paul Pierce. The Hall of Fame forward recently used a hit song to send a message to all the critics.

Whether it was on social media or TV, Pierce let the doubters have it during the Celtics' run to the title. Earlier this week, he put up a video online of him playing "Not Like Us" by Kendrick Lamar. Pierces plans on playing the song on repeat until this time next year.

"It's this all day. This all I'm playing. They not like us," Pierce said. "It's this all day every day all summer until next June. This is what y'all get."

Before the Celtics took down the Dallas Mavericks, it was Paul Pierce who delivered Boston its last championship. Back in 2008, he took down Kobe Bryant and the LA Lakers with the help of Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen. Pierce would also go on to win Finals MVP in that series.

Pierce is among the many NBA legends to don a Celtics jersey. He spent 15 years with the franchise after they drafted him 10th overall in 1998. Winning a championship in '08 would go on to be the biggest accomplishment of his career.

Paul Pierce blasts Boston Celtics' critics on social media

During the Boston Celtics' quest for the NBA title, Paul Pierce's antics were mainly on social media. When they finally accomplished their goal, he made sure to clap back at media members who didn't have faith in this squad.

Following the Celtics Game 5 win, a fan account made a compilation video of analysts doubting Boston throughout the season. Pierce ended up reposting it and saying he's excited to hear from all the naysayers now.

Paul Pierce did not end there, as he pulled out all the stops for his first TV appearance following the title win. While on FS1's "Undisputed," the former Celtic had an inflatable leprechaun behind him, along with two massive chains with the logo. To top it all off, he was hugging the Larry O'Brien trophy.

In the end, Pierce wanted his co-hosts to get in on the fun as well. He jokingly brought fake tickets to the championship parade with him. Skip Bayless and Keyshawn Johnson each got one, and Pierce said they could join him on the famous duck boat.

With this championship victory, the Celtics ended their 16-year title drought. More notably, they've claimed a top spot in history once again. After the LA Lakers tied them with 17 in 2020, the Celtics once again have the most titles of any franchise with 18.
