"All of a sudden he got all these s**t" - Kyrie Irving ridicules Timberwolves center for drawing plays during Mavericks guard's open camp

Despite the NBA's offseason now being in full swing, stars such as Kyrie Irving are free to spend their summer however they please. Regardless, it seems that Irving is still spending some time on the court along with 2024 Sixth Man of the Year award winner Naz Reid.

Reid and Irving appeared to be coaching a team together at a pick up game but the latter did not seem amused with the Minnesota Timberwolves big man's coaching prowess.

Irving joked about Reid's coaching ability which was captured on camera and posted on Instagram.

"He been to one Playoff all of a sudden he's got all these sh**," Irving said jokingly about a play that Reid drew up. "Look at this sh**."

This lighthearted moment between the two NBA standouts was also later shared by Naz Reid on his Instagram story.

Compared to Kyrie Irving, Reid is less experienced in the NBA. He went undrafted in 2019 but still found a way into the league by signing a two-way contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves. His five seasons in the NBA have all been spent as a backup center for the Wolves and he has shown a lot of growth since.

His 2023-24 season was his best one yet as he posted a career-high 13.5 points, and 5.2 rebounds in 81 games played. He mostly played as a backup behind starting center Rudy Gobert but made the most of his role by winning the Sixth Man of the Year award.

Kyrie Irving and Naz Reid were on opposite sides in Western Conference finals

With how Naz Reid and Kyrie Irving are joking together courtside, some might forget that just a month ago, the two were battling it out to make it out of the Western Conference.

Irving and the Dallas Mavericks battled their way as the fifth seed to the conference finals where they met the third-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves.

Despite being considered as underdogs due to being a lower-seeded team, the Mavs were still able to get the best of the Wolves, beating them in five games to advance to the NBA Finals.

Irving, a Playoff veteran with one championship under his belt, was a driving force behind the Mavs series win. He averaged 27.0 points on a 49.0 % shooting clip (37.5% 3pt FG) as well as 3.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists.

Meanwhile, Reid, who has only been to the postseason twice in his career, showed a lot of promise. In the five games against the Mavericks, he averaged 12.6 points while shooting a highly efficient 47.9 % from the field while averaging 3.8 rebounds per game.

He had his best performance in Game 2 where he scored 23 points on an 8-for-13 shooting clip.
