Since his NBA career ended, Nick Young has made a name for himself on social media. While he mostly focuses on basketball, on Tuesday, he used his platform to speak out against a recent injustice.
Ahead of the upcoming Paris Olympics, Young took to social media to express disbelief that athletes are representing the country while people at home are facing hardships.
"So the police shot and killed an 36 yr old black lady holding a pot bcuz she said I rebuke you in Jesus name..and we out here playing for USA"

The incident Nick Young was referring to happened two weeks ago in Illinois.
Police went to the woman's home because she called 911, saying an intruder had entered her home. When police arrived, the woman allegedly picked up a pot of boiling hot water on her stove. After refusing to put it down, one of the officers on the scene allegedly discharged his firearm.
Nick Young made multiple social media posts calling out police
This is not the first time Nick Young has called out the police for questionable actions. Earlier this week, the longtime NBA guard had another social media rant after seeing a viral post.
In the clip, a group of white adults are seen yelling at a group of African American children. They can clearly be heard saying slurs at them as they are crossing a street.
During the video, one of the children ends up stopping to respond to the adults yelling slurs at them. Eventually, police show up to separate the two groups. However, they remove the kids from the scene without ever saying a word to the adults.
Nick Young re-posted this video, outraged by how the situation was handled. He was furious that the officers went after the kids instead of the adults. Young capped off the post by saying those officers should be fired.
"Why is the police only messing with the kids .. this shit is sad not one of them police said anything to them grown ass ppl they no who to mess with lil kids … get they ass fired !!" he wrote on X.
Young spent 12 years in the league, suiting up for various teams. His biggest accomplishment was winning a championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2018. Following his retirement, Young serves as a head coach in Ice Cube's "BIG3" league.
