Just because he's LeBron James' son, it doesn't mean that Bronny James is exempted from the typical rookie hazing. Bronny experienced what it was like to be treated like a rookie during the LA Lakers' game against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday.
A clip from the game was shared showing nine-time All-Star Anthony Davis checking out of the game and heading to the bench. Davis made a beeline for a seat that Bronny occupied and then proceeded to kick the rookie out before taking the seat for himself.
To make the interaction even more interesting, LeBron was sitting next to Bronny. Not only did LeBron watch the interaction, he could not contain his laughter as he watched it happen.

LeBron James sat with the team on the bench, but he did not suit up against the Trail Blazers. In his absence, Davis stepped up to lead the Lakers to a 107-98 win.
Davis registered a double-double by scoring 30 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. He was also responsible for causing havoc on the Blazers' offense with two steals and five blocks.
Aside from Davis, D'Angelo Russell also stepped up by scoring 28 points off the bench. Russell grabbed a double-double of his own as he finished with 14 assists. Rui Hachimura also came up big as he scored in double-figures, registering 23 points and getting four steals.
Bronny saw over two minutes of action, going 0-for-2 but also finishing with one block.
LeBron James missed his first game of the season
After playing 23 straight games to start the 2024-25 season, Lakers star LeBron James finally missed a contest. He was ruled out against Portland on Sunday due to soreness in his left foot.
LeBron, who will turn 40 on December 30, has been averaging 35.0 minutes per game. Second only to team leader Davis, who is seeing an average of 35.3 minutes of playing time.
LeBron's average playing time so far this season is currently the third-lowest amount of playing time he's seen throughout his career. The least amount of minutes he averaged in a season was in 2020-21, when he saw only 33.4 mpg in 45 games. The second lowest was in 2019-20, when he averaged 34.6 mpg in 67 contests.
In 23 games so far this season, LeBron is averaging numbers that are close to a triple-double. He has put up 23.0 points, grabbed 8.0 rebounds, and dished 9.1 assists so far. His points-per-game average is on pace to be the second-lowest of his career. The lowest he put up was in his rookie season when he averaged 20.9 ppg.
LA's next contest is on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Whether LeBron James will return to action by then or be sidelined for a second straight game remains to be seen.
