Anthony Davis might not be playing because of an injury, but it hasn't stopped him from supporting one of his Dallas Mavericks teammates. Davis dropped a message on social media after Brandon Williams' monster performance in the NBA G League.

In a post on Instagram stories, AD re-shared a post from the G League's account showing Williams' fantastic night for the Texas Legends. The 25-year-old guard finished with 34 points, four rebounds, seven assists and two steals on 10-for-21 shooting.

Davis wrote a two-word message for his teammate:

"Yeah slim!!"

Brandon Williams has been with the Dallas Mavericks since last season on a two-way contract. Williams played 17 games last season and spent most of it in the NBA G League. He has suited up 20 times already for the Mavericks this season.

Williams helped the Texas Legends beat the Long Island Nets 122-118 on Sunday night. The other two-way contract players in Dallas are Kessler Edwards and Kai Jones. Edwards likely earned a standard deal after filling in at center during the team's injury crisis.

Jones, meanwhile, signed on Saturday night after the Mavericks waived Kylor Kelly. It will be interesting to see what Dallas can do until they have a fully healthy roster.

Anthony Davis remains out with an adductor injury, suffering it on his Mavericks debut following Luka Doncic's shocking trade to the LA Lakers. Davis has remained active, continuing to work out and even move during the pregame shootaround.

AD is set to be re-evaluated later this week, with the front office hoping that he will get cleared. The Mavs are No. 10 in the Western Conference, at 32-29. They need to finish the season strong or fans will continue to scrutinize the baffling Doncic deal.

Anthony Davis has moved on from the LA Lakers

Following his return to the LA Lakers as a member of the Dallas Mavericks last week, Anthony Davis received a tribute video. The Lakers fanbase also applauded him, which made it easier for him to move.

"I moved on," Davis said, according to Yahoo! Sports. "I got a wife and kids to worry about, you know what I'm saying? And I'm figuring out how I'm going to get them to Dallas and get adjusted to that. It's over with, and I'm moving on with my new team and what we got going on."

If Davis gets cleared soon, the Mavs still have a chance to climb the standings. He will also have a shot at facing his former team before the end of the regular season. The Lakers visit Dallas on April 9.
