On December 18th, it was reported that Davis was expected to miss at least a month with a foot injury. In the latest update from NBA insider Shams Charania, the Lakers have diagnosed Davis with a stress injury. The team confirmed that Davis is expected to be out indefinitely.
It was a brutal break for the Lakers as Anthony Davis was having a career year. Davis is averaging 27.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 2.1 blocks per game for the Lakers this season. He was also shooting a career-high 59.4 percent from the field.

The Lakers will have to buckle down with their superstar big man on the sidelines. The team currently finds itself at 13-18 on the season and has lost its last two consecutive games.
The hope for the Lakers is that they can generate some momentum up the standings in the Western Conference. It would be a huge accomplishment, especially while Davis is out with his injury.
According to another update from NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Lakers plan to re-evaluate Anthony Davis' injury in 7-10 days to see if he can return to play. Before his injury, Davis had a six-game stretch that saw him average 33.7 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks while shooting 66.1 percent from the field.
The Lakers are set to take on the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night. After that, they will hit the road to take on the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas. Los Angeles currently finds itself in 13th place in the Western Conference standings.
