Anthony Davis is slowly trying to find his rhythm after missing 19 games due to an adductor injury suffered in his debut for the Dallas Mavericks. Davis is on a minutes restriction, but the Mavs are 2-1 in the three games he played since his return.
"AD" played his fourth game on Monday night against the visiting Brooklyn Nets. He was initially listed as probable before getting upgraded to available before tipoff. It was a huge boost for a Dallas team trying to survive the season and hoping to make the NBA Play-In Tournament at least.
So how did Davis perform tonight against the Nets? He finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists. However, it wasn't enough as the Mavericks fell short, losing to Brooklyn 113-109. Dallas dropped to 37-39 and remained as the No. 9 seed in the West.

Here are Anthony Davis' stats for the game:
Anthony Davis scores 2 points in the second half as Mavs lose to Nets
There was optimism from Dallas Mavericks fans when Anthony Davis returned from his injury on March 24. Davis was solid in his first three games back but wasn't allowed to play more than 30 minutes in each contest.
The same thing happened on Monday night as "AD" only played 28 minutes. However, he wasn't as aggressive on offense, taking just 10 shots in total to finish with 12 points.
Davis had 10 points in the first half before a dud performance in the second half, wherein he only scored two points. It was an abysmal final 24 minutes for the Mavs' big man, but patience is needed as he tries to get his rhythm back after not playing for more than a month.
What's next for Anthony Davis and the Dallas Mavericks?
The Dallas Mavericks have six games left on their schedule, half of which are at home and the other half on the road. The only two teams with a losing record in their remaining opponents are the Atlanta Hawks and Toronto Raptors.
The Mavs will play the Clippers twice, the Grizzlies and the LA Lakers. The matchup against the Lakers on April 9 will be an emotional one. It's Luka Doncic's first game back in Dallas since getting traded to the Lakers in exchange for Anthony Davis and Max Christie in early February.
Davis has not paid dividends for the Mavs in the way they hoped for. He got injured in his debut and missed the next 19 games, leaving Kyrie Irving to carry the franchise. Irving didn't last and was subsequently ruled out for the season after tearing the ACL in his right knee.
