Ja Morant's Memphis Grizzlies took on Victor Wembanyama's San Antonio Spurs in a Western Conference clash on Wednesday night. In a matchup full of highlights, one play from Morant reigned supreme over every contender.
With the game decided late in the third quarter, Morant blew by Spurs rookie Stephon Castle, who fouled the Grizzlies All-Star, which drew a whistle from referees. In the game's rapid pace, Morant met Spurs big man Victor Wembanyama, throwing down a ferocious posterizing dunk over the Defensive Player of the Year frontrunner.
Though the play didn't count due to Castle's foul on Morant, the dunk caused an uproar from fans on social media.

"JA MORANT DUNKED ON WEMBY AFTER THE WHISTLE," a Grizzlies fan account exclaimed with a video of the dunk.
"Nah yo, this counts," a fan declared in the comments. "Dead ball or not. My goodness."
"That whistle saved (Victor Wembanyama's) career," another fan added.
Some fans came to the defense of Wembanyama, arguing the play was due to the foul on Morant prior to the dunk.
"You mean after the whistle with Wemby not trying to seriously contest," a fan questioned in the comments, arguing against the post's caption.
"Doesn't count," another fan argued. "Just the same old wannabe."
"It don't count. Why we posting this," a third fan commented questioningly.
