Kyrgios, returning to a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in two years, is ready to give his country’s biggest tennis competition a boost.

The former world No. 11 already turned heads at practice when he replaced a Kristaps Porzingis jersey with an Ant-Man uniform. ESPN promptly shared the photo of Kyrgios wearing Edwards’ Timberwolves jersey.

Despite his loyalty to the Green Machine, he couldn't resist donning an Anthony Edwards jersey. Even before stepping onto the court, the sometimes controversial tennis star has already surprised fans eagerly awaiting his performance.

Kyrgios praised Tatum after leading the Celtics to a win over Edwards’ Timberwolves

Nick Kyrgios watched the highly anticipated showdown between the Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves on Jan. 2. The biggest highlight of the matchup was the one-on-one duel between Jayson Tatum, whom Kyrgios calls "my brother," and Anthony Edwards.

The 2022 Australian Open doubles champion saw Tatum lead the defending champs to a 118-115 victory. Tatum finished the game with 33 points on 13-for-27 shooting, along with nine assists, eight rebounds and three steals.

After the game, Kyrgios shared a story on Instagram to congratulate Boston’s franchise cornerstone:

“Love you, champ”

The Celtics' defense limited Anthony Edwards to just 15 points on 5-for-16 shooting that night, with Tatum, Jrue Holiday and Derrick White taking turns guarding him. Despite Minnesota's loss, about a week later, Nick surprised fans by wearing an Ant-Man jersey over his usual Celtics gear at the Australian Open.
