Philadelphia 76ers superstar center Joel Embiid made his much-awaited return from injury during Sunday's 108-100 road victory over the Chicago Bulls. Afterward, the 2023 MVP celebrated his co-star Tyrese Maxey's career milestone, alleviating fan concerns about a growing rift between the two.
Sunday's outing marked Embiid's fifth of the season, ending his seven-game absence due to a left knee injury. Despite reportedly being on a minutes restriction, the seven-time All-Star overcame a slow start and thrived. He tallied team-highs of 31 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks, shooting 46.4% across 33 minutes.
Meanwhile, Maxey recorded his first career triple-double with 25 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists, shooting 45.5%.

Following the contest, Sixers coach Nick Nurse awarded Maxey the game ball over Embiid in Philly's locker room. However, the big man didn't appear slighted, as he applauded the one-time All-Star and gave him a pat on the head.
The moment occurred a few weeks after the Sixers' well-documented Nov. 18 team meeting regarding their 2-11 start. Per ESPN's Shams Charania, Maxey called out Embiid for his "tardiness" during the "much-needed heart-to-heart."
Thus, fans on X/Twitter and Instagram appeared relieved that there seemingly isn't any lingering animosity between the teammates.
"Embiid looks like a proud pop," @phillydell_1900," said.
"Joel smiling makes me feel so much better," @fynna_pardy wrote.
Meanwhile, others noted that Philly's team chemistry appears to be gradually increasing amid its fourth win in five outings.

Joel Embiid's Sixers earn first win with Big 3
On top of Sunday's victory marking the Sixers' fourth in five games, it was their first with their Big 3 of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and Paul George in their lineup.
The trio's Nov. 20 debut against the Memphis Grizzlies was cut short after George exited early in the second half due to a hyperextended left knee. In his absence, Philly suffered a 117-111 road loss.
So, Sixers fans finally got a glimpse of what their team is capable of when near full strength. Philly (7-15) will look to continue digging out of its early season hole on Friday when it hosts the Indiana Pacers (10-15).
