The Atlanta Hawks made Zaccharie Risacher the No. 1 pick of the 2024 NBA Draft. Risacher is the second first pick by the Hawks in franchise history joining David Thompson in 1975. The decision to get the former JL Bourg star made him the second Frenchman to be named No. 1 following Victor Wembanyama’s path last year.
The 6-foot-9 Risacher could move to the power forward spot once he fills out his frame. For now, he will be competing minutes against Saddiq Bey, Jalen Johnson and De’Andre Hunter.
The Atlanta Hawks are expected to make more moves before training camp opens in a few months. How the roster will look once the 2024-25 season begins is anybody’s guess.

Atlanta Hawks depth chart for next season
Zaccharie Risacher has arrived but the biggest names on the Atlanta Hawks roster remain to be Trae Young and Dejounte Murray. Atlanta is rumored to be willing to trade one or both for the right return. But, until a deal is finalized, the two point guards will headline coach Quin Snyder’s lineup.
The shooting guard spot is where the Hawks need some reinforcement. In most games, it’s Murray who plays that role while Bogdan Bogdanovic comes in to take over the part.
The center position is ready with Clint Capela leading the way. If the Atlanta Hawks trade him, Onyeka Okungwu will be elevated as the starter.

De’Andre Hunger is reportedly being shopped after the Hawks landed Zaccharie Risacher
Atlanta’s wing is loaded with the arrival of Zaccharie Risacher. Last season, the Hawks divided the minutes and load among Jalen Johnson, De’Andre Hunter and Saddiq Bey when all were healthy. Johnson soaked up the majority of the minutes when Hunter went down with an injury.
Risacher’s addition will make the small forward spot even more crowded. To address this issue, the Hawks could be moving on from one of their wings.
NBA Insider Evan Sidery had this to report about potential changes to the Hawks’ roster:
“With the Hawks preparing to select Zaccharie Risacher, De’Andre Hunter is being shopped to interested teams.
“Hunter, the No. 4 pick from the 2019 draft, has three years remaining on his current deal.
“Atlanta will move forward with Jalen Johnson and Risacher on the wing.”
Atlanta’s rotation is unquestionably unbalanced. The team will likely make more changes in the offseason. The Murray-Young partnership seems to have run its course. Hunter has to be offloaded with Risacher on board.
The Hawks have some tough decisions to make. This depth chart will likely look quite different when the new season starts.
