The Atlanta Hawks and LA Lakers wrap their season series on Friday at the Crypto.com Arena. They produced a memorable game in their last meeting on Dec. 6. The Hawks won that contest 134-132 in overtime behind a Trae Young game-winner from distance.
Just when it seemed like LeBron James' 39-point triple-double and a 38-point, 10-rebound, eight-assist performance from Anthony Davis saved the day for the Lakers after several miscues in the clutch, LA blew a defensive coverage in the dying moments.
Gabe Vincent mixed up the switch with Davis, which allowed Trae Young to get free and hit an open 3 to seal the win. The Lakers will have revenge on their mind after putting up a solid display for much of that contest, only for Young to snap it in the last second.
Ahead of Friday's rematch, the Lakers and Hawks are both in tremendous form. LA has improved to 19-14 on the year, winning seven of its last 10 games, while Atlanta is 18-16, winning four of its past five.
